travel europe germany schleswig holstein sereetz
Sereetz is a village within the municipality of Ratekau north of Lubeck in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
In 1994, I lived in Sereetz, for five weeks with a host family, the Stolles, while I chaperoned a high school excahnge group.
They were great hosts and we had many good times together.
Rudy and Marita's daughter, Nadine, had been an exchange student to Waldport, Oregon, and had stayed with us for several weeks.
Her family went out of the way to make my stay comfortable and memorable.
Nadine gave up her room for me to use... I didn't know at first, but she was sleeping in the living room.
Along with their son, Simon, they included me in everything. I will always be indebted...

The Stolles loaned me a bike while I was there and I enjoyed riding around the area, Sereetz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, 1994.
Bicycles in Germany are quite expensive, not like the ones we can pick up at a local outlet... I was happy they trusted me with it.
